“I think a mother deserves the highest respect and when you talk about salary it’s not always about cash but I feel it’s the love and respect that you give to someone……. So, I think it is the job of a mother that deserves the highest salary.”
This answer by Manushi Chillar helped her win the Miss World title. As the previous year’s winner placed the crown on her head, tears of happiness rolled down her eyes. She had succeeded in making her family and the nation proud by bringing back the trophy to the country after a gap of seventeen years. She was also a favourite among the judges as she had won both the Head to Head challenge and the Beauty with a purpose segment of the Miss World competition this year. Although her answer gave rise to a lot of debate in the economic forum where the work of a housewife or mother is often considered as something economically unimportant but it did manage to touch hearts. She had to compete against 108 contestants from all over the world. Soon after winning the crown Manisha took to her twitter account and dedicated the Miss World crown to the country.
